Got up early this morning. I’d left the windows open last night because of the heat. The sound of the birds was the first thing I heard and it reminded me of summer as a child when I stayed at my Nans house. When I used to wake up there the sun would beam through these thin curtains. Outside the window was this tree full of lively singing birds. I wasn’t used to it because where I lived I was surrounded by concrete. Listening to it this morning seemed to fill me with a sense of calm….
